Travel + Leisure Co. Philippines employees volunteer for Brigada Eskwela in Mabalacat City

CLARK, PHILIPPINES (21 August 2023) – In preparation for the reopening of classes on August 29, employees from Travel + Leisure Co. Global Support Services Philippines in Clark volunteered to support the Brigada Eskwela activities of San Joaquin Elementary School (SJES) in Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

As part of the company’s sustainability program, the employees cleaned the school grounds and donated cleaning materials to the school. The team also helped remove fallen tree branches and trunks caused by the heavy rains Pampanga experienced recently.

Brigada Eskwela or the National Schools Maintenance Week is the annual program led by the Department of Education that engages all education stakeholders to contribute their time, efforts, and resources in ensuring that public schools are all set in time for class opening.

“Our team is grateful to the officials of SJES for giving us the opportunity to contribute to the Brigada Eskwela program. This initiative reflects our company’s core values and dedication to making a positive impact in the areas where we operate. We are fortunate to have team members who choose to volunteer their free time to such causes,” said Gloria Llamas, Director of Operations of Travel + Leisure Co. Global Support Services Philippines.

“We are grateful to Travel + Leisure Co. for the much-needed support. We are happy to have partners from the private sector helping us create a safe and clean learning environment for our students,” said Evelyn Mercado, school principal of SJES.

Travel + Leisure Co. Global Support Services Philippines has been organizing community projects for its employees in Clark like school and beach cleanups, tree planting, and fundraising drives for turtle protection. SJES has also been an “Adopted School” of the company for its environmental activities.
