ANGELES CITY (PIA) – Around 200 students of Mapiña Elementary School in Magalang, Pampanga are now benefiting from a more secure and organized learning environment with the completion of a new school building.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) constructed a two-story, four-classroom facility worth ₱14.6 million, funded under the Department of Education’s Basic Educational Facilities Fund.

Spanning 506.51 square meters, the structure includes comfort rooms on each level, a ramp for persons with disabilities, and a steel fire exit staircase—features aimed at improving both accessibility and safety.
DPWH Pampanga 3rd District Engineer Arnold Ocampo said the project addresses persistent issues in Sitio Mapiña, Barangay San Ildefonso, such as overcrowded classrooms and lack of adequate learning spaces.
“This initiative is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to meet the increasing demand for quality educational infrastructure,” Ocampo said.
The new building is expected to foster better student-teacher interaction and provide a more structured academic setting. #
