SEC launches one-stop shop registration in Angat, Bulacan

A total of 21 newly registered civil society organizations (CSOs) in the Municipality of Angat, Bulacan benefitted from the one-stop shop for company registration organized by the Securities and Exchange Commission-Tarlac Extension Office (SEC-TAREO) in partnership with the municipal government of Angat held on January 16-17, 2024 at Angat Municipal Gymnasium.

In his message, Angat Mayor Reynante Bautista said this joint undertaking aims to assist the CSOs in their municipality to obtain legal personality as non-profit organizations.

“Their registration will open new opportunities for them, as they are now eligible to receive more government support as SEC-registered organizations,” Bautista added.

The SEC also capacitated the participants of this one-stop shop in properly filing their annual reportorial requirements through the Electronic Filing and Submission Tool (eFAST) portal, which will help them avoid penalties and maintain good standing with the Commission.

For her part, Atty. Charito Bañez-Santiago, Securities Specialist of SEC emphasized that this kind of collaboration with the local government units (LGUs) is part of the ease of doing business initiatives of the Commission and its commitment to bring SEC closer to the people at the grassroots level.

“The LGU of Angat, Bulacan is one of the Campaign Network partners of SEC and this partnership serves as a channel for the SEC to collaborate on information, education and communication (IEC) initiatives aimed at raising awareness on SEC regulations and online services,” Santiago said.

Apart from the online registration assistance, the SEC also trained selected LGU employees of Angat about the online services of the Commission to assist their clients in dealing with SEC transactions.
