PJMA’s Juan Big Idea 2026 explores how global brands find local meaning
The Philippine Junior Marketing Association (PJMA) will be hosting the Juan Big Idea 2026: Mula sa Mundo Patungong Panlokal on October 3, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bulacan State University – Main Campus. The event will be bringing in young marketers and industry experts for a discussion on the adaptation of global marketing concepts to local culture.
Based on the idea of glocalization marketing, Juan Big Idea 2026 aims to discuss how global brands can localize their identity, products and marketing campaigns to fit in with the culture of the markets they intend to target. Within the context of the Philippines, this event will focus on how foreign and local brands adapt themselves to suit the Filipino language, cultural practices, sense of humor, family values and lifestyle.
The discussion will revolve around the fine line between global brand identity and localized experience, focusing on the influence of cultural background in consumer perceptions, adaptation of global marketing strategies in the context of Filipino audiences and ways of using local insights in the process.
For students who want to become marketers, the discussion provides a chance to consider the relationship between global standards and the adaptation of marketing concepts to local markets.
As brands become ever more adept at surviving within a globally connected market environment, Juan Big Idea 2026 provides an entry point into the discussion of how to give a global product a sense of being local, and how Filipino culture influences marketing. #
