Lalamove puts the spotlight on Kapampangan partner drivers, honors their achievements in Liga ng mga Bossing Basketball

Lalamove, an on-demand delivery platform, brought all of its partner drivers from Pampanga to celebrate their efforts and contributions to the community through a special sports fest called Liga ng mga Bossing Basketball Tournament.

The basketball tournament was launched to strengthen the community of partner drivers, provide a means of enjoyment, and celebrate their achievements in the local community of Pampanga and nearby provinces.

“When we give honor to our partner drivers, we do our best to reach all of them even if they are in North Luzon in Pampanga. Through Liga ng Mga Bossing Basketball Tournament we have an opportunity to bring them all together and recognize their notable contributions to the community,” said Djon Nacario, Managing Director of Lalamove Philippines.

This was the second leg of Liga ng mga Bossing Basketball Tournament, which was held at Remediam People’s Gym last September 8, 2024. The first leg was held in Cebu last month while the last leg will be held in Manila on September 15, 2024.

Showcasing the Kapampangan culture of community

Despite the erratic weather conditions in the past few weeks, the culture of community and camaraderie is overly felt among the partner drivers in Pampanga. They were welcomed with sunny weather as they geared up for the game and other exciting activities.

Pampanga-based partner driver Marvin Agapito, also the team captain of the winning team, Castrol Snipers, said they were looking forward to the basketball tournament because they were excited to bond with their fellow partner drivers.

“Akala po namin hindi matutuloy ‘yung game, mabuti nalang gumanda ang panahon at nakapag-enjoy pa rin kaming lahat. Nagkaroon din kami ng opportunity na makilala ang isa’t isa at ma-celebrate rin siyempre ‘yung mga pinaghirapan natin bilang partner driver,” Agapito said.

Agapito’s team comprises Justine Vitug, Ian Datoy, Alex Fernandez, Arnold Casaje, Jerico Vital, Mark Anthony Marin, and Mark Alvarado. Their team received a P50,000 cash prize as the champion team.

Meanwhile, for Zoren Garcia, the team captain of the first runner-up team Prestone Grind, the basketball tournament highlighted their community’s strong spirit and confident attitude.

“Naramdaman po namin kung gaano ka-committed at strong lahat ng mga partner drivers sa game. ‘Yung attitude namin na ‘yun bilang Kapampangan, nadadala rin namin sa serbisyo namin araw-araw,” Garcia said.

His team is joined by Bueno Joshue, John Albayda, Rocci Cantiga, Jhon Angelo Oreo, Edmon Dinio, Jobert Punzalan, Jeffrey Gonzales, Romano Mallari, and Anderson Canlas. They received a P10,000 cash prize.

Jovy Evaristo, the man behind the Mr. Cabalen Hoops, a popular Kapampangan content creator hosted the event and awarded the Top Drivers who had an excellent performance from April to June this year.

Attendees also received treats and freebies from sponsors including Prestone, Maxxis, Delkor, CST Tires, Castrol, Arisun Tires, Invested, Supermiler, Sting, Gatorade, Seaoil, Rejuviant, Oishi, Puregold, MemoXpress, and TNT.

“The basketball tournament is just one of the many ways we are celebrating and rewarding the efforts of our partner drivers. We are also continuously providing further support for their day-to-day trips through the Panalomove Benefits Program, from fuel discounts, vehicle maintenance, and health insurance,” Nacario added.
