Department of Tourism Region III recognizes Central Luzon’s culture bearers
The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 3 recognizes and honors 13 exceptional individuals who breathe life to the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of Central Luzon through PAMANA or Parangal sa Manlilikhang Natatangi ng Gitnang Luzon.
In conjunction with the celebration of National Heritage Month this May, the DOT commends the following PAMANA honorees and awardees:
- Lillian Borromeo, for preserving heirloom Pampanga cuisine

- Peter de Vera, for nurturing young talent and preserving Filipino traditions through performance and theatre

- Wilfredo Layug, a Kapampangan sculptor known for his sacred woodcarving

- Katrina Monseratt S. Roque, who advocates for Kapampangan barrio dishes

- Carmelita F. Baluyot, for embodying the legacy of pottery craftsmanship in Calumpit, Bulacan

- Jeffrey S. Eligio, a Bulakenyo,for continuing the family tradition of singkaban carving

- Ma. Natividad O. Castro, for carrying on the Pabalat tradition of San Miguel, Bulacan

- Marichelle S. Bernardo, an advocate of Puni weaving in Malolos City, Bulacan

- Mercy Antonio, for preserving Bulacan’s culinary heritage through The Original Malolos Empanada de Kaliskis

- Remigio E. Cruz, from Bocaue, Bulacan, who is known for his distinctive skill in kadeneta embroidery

- Rosemarie L. Santos, from San Jose, Tarlac, and a member of the Abellen Tribe, is a culture bearer of Kahben weaving

- Sonia B. Dominguez, a Bataeño, is a respected broom maker, turning a traditional craft into a livelihood

- Zenaida de Vera, from Bustos, Bulacan, who learned the traditional craft of Minasa
