CDC, NCCA sign MOU for cultural mapping in Clark 

MANILA — The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) have partnered to conduct a cultural mapping project in the Clark Freeport Zone (CFZ).  

CDC President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera and NCCA Executive Director Eric Zerrudo formalized the collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila on 6 June 2025.

The project aims to identify and document Clark’s cultural assets as part of CDC’s Arts, Culture, and Heritage Tourism Program, led by its Tourism Promotions Division (TPD).  

In February 2024, CDC submitted Clark’s initial Local Cultural Inventory (LCI) to the Philippine Registry of Cultural Property (PRECUP), listing the CDC Corporate Center, Parade Grounds, and Barn Houses along R.C. Santos Street. This latest MOU follows through on this commitment to document and conserve the rich heritage of Clark Freeport Zone and its environs.

From June to December 2025, CDC and NCCA will undertake a cultural mapping project to expand Clark’s heritage database. A five-day training workshop will be held for 25 to 30 mappers, with NCCA providing technical guidance.  

The final report, a Local Culture Profile of Clark Freeport Zone, will be submitted to the NCCA, the National Archives of the Philippines, and a designated local archive. The findings will support CDC’s heritage-driven tourism and events.  

The NCCA’s Cultural Mapping Program assists local government units and institutions in identifying and preserving cultural resources for community development.
