Over 700 police personnel to secure COC filing in Pampanga on Oct. 1-8
More than 700 police officers will be deployed in strategic areas in Pampanga to secure the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) filing of would-be candidates in the May 2025 polls.
In a statement released on social media, Provincial Police Director PCol Jay Dimaandal said their office is ready to enforce security measures ahead of the COC filing set for October 1 to October 8.
Pampanga Provincial Police Office (PPO) also reported that Dimaandal sat down with Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Lydia Florentino-Pangilinan on Wednesday, September 25, to discuss safety protocols and other related preparations.
PPO is reminding the would-be candidates and their parties to secure necessary permits for motorcades as well as to follow the three representatives per candidate rule inside the filing venue.
‘Remain apolitical’
Based on the PPO statement, Dimaandal also reminded his ranks to remain apolitical and impartial regarding the upcoming national and local elections. He also stressed their commitment to ensuring public safety and order.
“Every officer must uphold their oath to serve the people, not political interests,” Dimaandal said.
Pampanga PPO added they are working closely with Comelec and the local government units to guarantee a fair and transparent election process. (JYD)
