G-Dragon, recognized as the King of K-pop, is set to make history once again as he brings his Übermensch World Tour to the Philippines this May 17, 2025. The highly anticipated concert will take place at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, the world’s largest indoor stadium. With this, G-Dragon becomes the first K-pop male solo artist to headline a show at this iconic venue. This milestone underscores his unparalleled influence and legacy in the global music scene.
G-Dragon’s Übermensch World Tour marks his first solo concert series in nearly eight years, following his successful Act III: M.O.T.T.E tour in 2017. The announcement comes after the release of his third full-length album, Übermensch, on February 25, 2025—his first album in over a decade since Coup d’Etat in 2013. The album has already received critical acclaim for its genre-defying tracks, including the explosive single “POWER,” the heartfelt collaboration “HOME SWEET HOME” featuring Taeyang and Daesung, and the funky pop hit “TOO BAD” with Anderson .Paak.
The Philippine leg of the tour is part of its first phase, which also includes stops in Tokyo, Osaka, Macau, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Hong Kong. Filipino fans attending the May 17 concert can expect a high-energy setlist that blends G-Dragon’s classic hits like “Crooked” and “One of a Kind” with new tracks from Übermensch.
Additionally, fans can expect official merchandise tied to both the tour and Übermensch. Limited-edition items are likely to be available exclusively at concert venues, adding another layer of excitement for attendees.
Filipino VIPs (BIGBANG’s fandom) have long been some of G-Dragon’s most passionate supporters. His return to the Philippines is expected to draw fans from across the region, eager to witness this historic event.
A celebration of music and artistry
The Übermensch album showcases G-Dragon’s evolution as an artist. From power ballads like “DRAMA” to experimental tracks like “MichiGO,” the record reflects his versatility and willingness to push creative boundaries. The album title itself—Übermensch, inspired by Friedrich Nietzsche’s philosophical concept—hints at themes of self-transcendence and reinvention.
G-Dragon has always been a pioneer in K-pop. As the leader of BIGBANG, he helped shape the global rise of Korean music with hits like “Fantastic Baby” and “Bang Bang Bang.” His solo career has been equally groundbreaking; his 2009 album Heartbreaker was one of Korea’s best-selling albums at the time, while his 2013 EP One of a Kind earned him international recognition.
This upcoming concert continues that legacy by setting yet another precedent for K-pop artists worldwide. It also follows in the footsteps of fellow BIGBANG member Taeyang, who recently performed at Manila’s Mall of Asia Arena as part of his Light Year tour.
G-Dragon’s influence extends far beyond music. Known for his trendsetting fashion sense and collaborations with luxury brands like Chanel and Nike, he has become a global cultural icon. His ability to seamlessly blend music, art, and fashion has earned him fans from all walks of life.
For Filipino VIPs and K-pop enthusiasts alike, this historic concert is more than just a performance—it’s an opportunity to witness one of music’s most influential figures continue to break barriers and redefine what it means to be an artist in today’s world. #
