CITY OF MALOLOS — A new art exhibit titled “Bloodline: The Art of Family Bonds” has opened at the Guillermo Tolentino Exhibit Hall within the Hiyas ng Bulacan Cultural Center last February 17, 2025, celebrating Bulacan’s finest artists and their craft.
The “Bloodline” exhibit, which will run until March 7, 2025, showcases the talents of Bulacan’s artists, providing a platform to promote their works and contribute to the province’s thriving arts and culture scene. Such programs play a crucial role in uplifting the art and culture not only of Bulacan but also of the entire country.
On the other hand, the Hiyas ng Bulacan Cultural Center, where the exhibit is housed, is known as the heart of history, arts, culture, and tourism within the Antonio S. Bautista Bulacan Provincial Capitol Compound. The two-storey building, designed in a ‘brutalist’ style by Architect Dominador Jimenez and implemented by Architect Leonides Manahan, was inaugurated on August 30, 1971. Its features include 25 long windows showing beams, adobe walls, and unique carvings.
Inside, the Guillermo Tolentino Exhibit Hall is named after the National Artist for Sculpture. The Hiyas ng Bulacan Museum displays the rich arts, culture, and history of Bulacan. The Provincial Library preserves significant Filipiniana and Philippine history references. The second floor features an auditorium named after Nicanor Abelardo—a famous composer from San Miguel.
Visitors to the “Bloodline” exhibit can expect a diverse collection of artworks that capture moments of exceptional creativity and insight, reflecting the colorful and vibrant culture of Bulacan. This event is a great opportunity for Bulakenyos to explore new perspectives and inspiration from their fellow artists.
