The Securities and Exchange Commission- Tarlac Extension Office (SEC TAREO) has forged a partnership with the Metro Angeles Chamber of  Commerce and Industry, Inc. (MACCII) to empower Kapampangan business  groups through financial literacy and investor education. A memorandum of  agreement was signed between SEC-TAREO Director, Atty. Richard R. Laus and  MACCII President, Ms. Elizabeth C. Timbol in a simple ceremony held recently at  Best Western Plus Hotel, Angeles City, Pampanga.

In a statement, Director Laus said the SEC is currently intensifying its efforts  to establish partnerships not only with different government agencies but also  with the private sector for capital market promotion and financial consumer  protection.

“The SEC-TAREO is honored to welcome the MACCII to the SEC Campaign  Network and we thank them for taking up the challenge to become an investor  champion, alongside with SEC,” he said.

Through this partnership, the SEC-TAREO and MACCII have agreed to  pursue common interests in conducting investor education programs and  activities that will foster financial literacy and inclusion. They will also advocate  for the promotion of innovative finance and the development of the capital  market among the Kapampangan MSMEs and investors.

For her part, MACCII President, Ms. Elizabeth C. Timbol expressed her  heartfelt appreciation to the SEC-TAREO for its proactive stance and business friendly approach to pursue this collaboration that will open doors to an array  of services for the members of the Angeles business community.

“Together, SEC-TAREO and MACCII will forge a powerful alliance to  nurture growth and empower businesses,” Timbol added.

The MACCII is the first business chamber in Region 3 to partner with SEC TAREO under the SEC-CAN (Communication, Advocacy and Network) strategic  initiative.
