SEC Tarlac EO, Angeles business chamber ink MOA for investor education
The Securities and Exchange Commission- Tarlac Extension Office (SEC TAREO) has forged a partnership with the Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (MACCII) to empower Kapampangan business groups through financial literacy and investor education. A memorandum of agreement was signed between SEC-TAREO Director, Atty. Richard R. Laus and MACCII President, Ms. Elizabeth C. Timbol in a simple ceremony held recently at Best Western Plus Hotel, Angeles City, Pampanga.
In a statement, Director Laus said the SEC is currently intensifying its efforts to establish partnerships not only with different government agencies but also with the private sector for capital market promotion and financial consumer protection.
“The SEC-TAREO is honored to welcome the MACCII to the SEC Campaign Network and we thank them for taking up the challenge to become an investor champion, alongside with SEC,” he said.
Through this partnership, the SEC-TAREO and MACCII have agreed to pursue common interests in conducting investor education programs and activities that will foster financial literacy and inclusion. They will also advocate for the promotion of innovative finance and the development of the capital market among the Kapampangan MSMEs and investors.
For her part, MACCII President, Ms. Elizabeth C. Timbol expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the SEC-TAREO for its proactive stance and business friendly approach to pursue this collaboration that will open doors to an array of services for the members of the Angeles business community.
“Together, SEC-TAREO and MACCII will forge a powerful alliance to nurture growth and empower businesses,” Timbol added.
The MACCII is the first business chamber in Region 3 to partner with SEC TAREO under the SEC-CAN (Communication, Advocacy and Network) strategic initiative.
