Zambales boosts mango production with modern farming
The Zambales provincial government is enhancing mango production through modern farming techniques and sustainability programs under the Zambales Mango Green Valley Project.
Now in its second phase, the project focuses on rehabilitating 20,800 mango trees through improved farm management, fertilization, and irrigation. With a P40-million budget, the goal is to increase yields from 2.3 to 12 tons per hectare while maintaining premium quality.

A collaboration between the Provincial Agriculture Office, President Ramon Magsaysay State University, and Samahan ng Magmamangga ng Zambales (SMZ), the initiative received P6.4 million in funding last December for farm enhancements, including irrigation, fertilization, and harvesting.
By 2026, the third phase will introduce Sweet Elena mangoes, the world’s sweetest, alongside a mango training center and post-harvest facility through the Department of Agriculture’s High-Value Crops Development Program. Efforts are also underway to strengthen branding, expand exports, and explore greenhouse cultivation, reinforcing Zambales’ commitment to a modern, thriving mango industry. #
