Visit to Japan by a Filipino-Japanese Descendant

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, as part of the ongoing efforts to assist Filipino-Japanese descendants in acquiring Japanese nationality, has arranged a visit to Japan on August 6 of a Filipino-Japanese descendant, Mr. Jose Takei. Prior to his departure, on the afternoon of August 5, Mr. Jose Takei gave an interview to the local Japanese press at the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines and held a pre-departure discussion with Ambassador Endo. Furthermore, in the early morning of August 6, Minister Matsuda, Deputy Chief of Mission, sent him off at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

This visit marks the beginning of a broader initiative. The Japanese Government plans to continue arranging similar visits to Japan for other Filipino-Japanese descendants, as necessary.
