Planning to get an iPhone 16? Here’s what you need to know
Apple officially launched its latest iPhone 16 Series during its Glowtime Event on Tuesday, September 10—introducing the entry-level iPhone 16 and 16 Plus and the premium iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models powered by the faster and more efficient A18 Pro chip.
According to Apple, the new devices will also feature the largest display in iPhone history. The iPhone 16 Pro has a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max offers an impressive 6.9-inch screen.
In terms of photography, the iPhone 16 Series is equipped with a dual-rear camera system that includes a 48MP ultra-wide camera, capable of recording in cinematic mode at 4K resolution with 120 frames per second.
The devices also feature an audio mix capability for professional-level video creation. There is also a new feature called Camera Control — a convenient way for users to launch the camera, capture photos, and start video recordings.
Aside from hardware upgrades, Apple confirmed the enhanced user experience for the iPhone 16 Series with the integration of Apple Intelligence in their upcoming iOS 18. Apple Intelligence is the company’s proprietary version of artificial intelligence (AI).
Additionally, Apple highlighted improved battery life in the iPhone 16 Pro series. It also continues to support charging via USB Type-C, along with Apple’s popular Dynamic Island feature for multitasking.
The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will be available in various colors, including black, white, pink, teal, and aquamarine while the Pro and Pro Max models come in four stunning finishes: black titanium, white titanium, natural titanium, and desert titanium.
Meanwhile, Apple confirmed that iOS 18 will be released on September 16, with pre-orders for the new iPhone 16 series starting in the United States and the United Kingdom on September 13.
