CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) expands international academic partnerships through a formal agreement with Sunchon National University (SCNU) of South Korea.
This comes after signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at Nieto Hall, NEUST Sumacab Campus in Cabanatuan City.
NEUST College of Education (COED) led the agreement, building institutional ties through faculty and student exchanges, joint research activities, and academic and cultural collaborations.
In her remarks, NEUST President Rhodora Jugo stated that the partnership supports the university’s GLOBAL initiative.
“With you as our partner, we look forward to creating meaningful opportunities that elevate academic quality and foster sustained institutional and international growth,” she added.
Following the MOU signing, NEUST and SCNU discussed implementation plans and potential expansion of cooperation through a future Memorandum of Agreement.
Proposed areas include international teaching internships, credit transfer arrangements, and collaborative research in pedagogy.
Both institutions also identified collaboration opportunities in agricultural research, such as smart farming and sustainable agriculture.
These initiatives support applied research and stronger academic ties, expected to build capacity in agricultural communities in Gabaldon and other Nueva Ecija areas.
The MOU was signed by Jugo and SCNU Office of International Affairs and Education Dean Seo Kang-Seok.
The event was witnessed by NEUST officials, including Vice President for Academic Affairs Feliciana Jacoba, Office of International Affairs and Southern Nueva Ecija Off-Campus Director Eric Claudio, COED Dean Jo Neil Peria, and other faculty and staff from both institutions.
