Gov’t launches Clark Aviation Capital, seeks to attract more investors
The area surrounding Clark International Airport has officially been designated as the Clark Aviation Capital of the Philippines, a development announced by the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) during a recent assembly.
CIAC President Arrey Perez introduced the initiative, describing it as “the aviation-centric business capital of the country.” The launch event featured key figures, including Transportation Undersecretary for Aviation Roberto C.O. Lim and Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) Vice President Kenneth Peralta.
“Clark makes one’s dream work,” Perez stated, emphasizing the airport’s pivotal role as a hub connecting the Philippines to the world. He envisions the region evolving into a comprehensive aviation-centered metropolis, where ambitious projects take flight.
CIAC, a subsidiary of the BCDA, is responsible for overseeing Clark airport operations and fostering its development. Perez outlined a vision for the area, highlighting plans to create a dynamic ecosystem that integrates aviation, logistics, commerce, and sustainable urban growth. This initiative aims to contribute significantly to national economic progress.
Spanning approximately 2,367 hectares of government-owned land, the Clark Aviation Capital is set to attract both local and foreign investments. According to CIAC, the initiative seeks to transform previously underutilized land into a global hub for innovation and infrastructure, enhancing airport operations and boosting economic and food security.
To achieve these goals, CIAC said they are focusing on partnerships in various sectors, including cargo and logistics, vertical infrastructure projects, and the development of heritage parks to attract tourism. These efforts are part of the Seven Flagship Projects designed to stimulate economic growth.
Among the flagship initiatives is the Clark National Food Hub, which recently received approval from the House Committee on Trade and Industry. Additional projects include the establishment of a World Events and Entertainment Center, the Urban Renewal and Heritage Conservation Program, and upgrades to road networks and facilities leading to the airport.
