Divine Providence’s Fruit: The Divine Grace – House of Worship Church Inc.
The Divine Grace – House of Worship Church Inc. in San Antonio, Guagua, Pampanga is said to be a tribute to the devotion and faith of Luz Tingin-Jingco, an 87-year-old woman who was instrumental in its construction.
The origin story of the church begins in December 2006, when Jingco began working in an underdeveloped area rich with water lilies. During that time, she expressed her heartfelt desire to build a place of worship.
“It’s been nonstop since the construction began because of divine providence,” Jingco remarked, believing that God was in charge of the entire process. “It was really what my heart desired,” she continued.
Despite facing challenges such as lack of funding and discouragements, Jingco said the church’s construction continued uninterrupted. She added she firmly believed that it was God’s will.
According to Jingco, the effort to transform the land into a community was a collaboration with people including Pacita Morales, Jacob Rongcal represented by Roman Rongcal, and Luz Ocampo who all played significant roles.
“The lot area where the church is situated is 1,480 square meters and every step of the development and construction process was documented,” Jingco mentioned.
Furthermore, several individuals in the person of Engr. Jimmy Manalansan, Atty. Romeo Torno, Mario Dabu, and Romeo Rodriguez have all contributed to the church’s growth after the construction of the building. According to Jingco, they helped with the finishing touches – the completion of the ceiling and tiling. These people, like Jingco, also attribute their contributions to divine providence—reiterating the view that faith and dedication have been the driving elements behind the development of Divine Grace – House of Worship Church Incorporated.
The church has welcomed several religious organizations over the years, but Jingco is still looking for the right preacher to head it. She said it was originally donated to a religious organization which she was affiliated with. However, she revoked the donation after seven years because she considered it was against God’s will.
Presently, it serves as a place of worship for more than 100 people every Sunday. Jingco is also currently filing a petition to rename the entire area where the church is located to Sitio Divina Gracia.
