CDC expands academic partnerships to boost workforce readiness
CLARK FREEPORT — The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) is strengthening its commitment to workforce development by expanding its academic partnerships under the Town and Gown Program, aimed at preparing students for employment through hands-on industry experience.
In a recent Pinning Ceremony held at the Clark Visitors Center, CDC recognized 27 interns from Pampanga State University, Southern Luzon State University, and Ateneo de Manila University for completing their training across various CDC departments.
The event, themed “Empowered Through Experience,“ also marked the signing of new agreements with Southern Luzon State University, Angeles City National Trade School, and Asia Pacific College.
CDC President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera emphasized the agency’s focus on human capital development.
“It’s something we take seriously at CDC, because we believe that our greatest investment should be in the human capital of the country,“ she said.
“If we invest that way, then we know that there’s no other way for the Philippines to go but up,“ she added.
Atty. Devanadera also highlighted the deeper value of the Town and Gown Program.
“We see the Town and Gown Program as a model of symbiotic learning. It’s about meaningful engagement, where both the interns and the host offices benefit. That’s when they are truly valued,“ she said.
To date, CDC has partnered with 24 academic institutions nationwide, reinforcing its role in bridging education and employment through strong industry-academe linkages.
